Rajat Chauhan

Dr. Rajat Chauhan is a Sports-Exercise Medicine & Pain doctor specialising in running. He has been running for last 34+ year and mentoring/coaching others for 19+ year. His personal best times for half marathon and marathon are 1hr 18min and 2hr 38min respectively. He was the Principal Technical Consultant and Head Coach for Adidas India from 2014 to 2017. He was the advisor to UK Sprint Squad (2005-2006) that was training for London Olympics.

He has over a decade of experience as a race director. Among others, he is the race director for La Ultra - The High (333 kms in Leh-Ladakh) since 2010, Wynberg-Allen (School) Half Marathon (Mussoorie) since 2016 and Gharwal Runs (74 kms in Dehradoon) since 2015. He was Director - Sports at Ashoka University from 2014 to 2018. He was selected as Chairperson for World Congress for Science & Medicine in ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 after having been invited to represent the Indian sub-continent in 2007 during the Cricket World Cup in the Caribbeans.

He is the author of ‘The Pain Handbook: A non-surgical way to manage Back, Neck & Knee Pain’, published by Penguin Publications. In the book he uses exercise as a modality to treat pain and help people lead a good quality of life. He has been writing since 2008 about running, exercises, sports medicine and pain for several newspapers, magazines and journals such as Hindustan Times, Mint (columnpodcast & FacebookLive) and Forbes India.
